Audi is launching a test of the A1 e-Tron

Presented at the Geneva Motor Show, the A1 e-Tron will roll in testing next year in Berlin.

Audi will produce 20 copies of this electric car range extender. Based on the A1, and offering a true four-seat and trunk, this version e-Tron embeds a 75 kW electric motor (102 hp) and a pack of lithium batteries. The autonomy is 50 km in zero emission mode. But the presence of a small engine can recharge the battery when it is flat and could complete autonomy to more than 250 km. A1 e-Tron will be tested in partnership with the energy producer E. ON and universities of Munich, as part of a project funded by the federal Transportation. The Minister, Peter Ramsauer, was also able to test the vehicle preview. Germany wants to become the European leader in the electric car and wants to have one million vehicles on the roads in 2020.
