Among the new headphones announced by the manufacturer AKG for the month of October 2010 include three models and two wired wireless. Among the wired models, the K 520 and K 540 are destined to accompany you everywhere, connected to your portable media player or PC. Both are foldable and are made of a sturdy metal headband. The earphones are semi-open supra-aural (land on the ears but does not include). These helmets are adorned with a three meter cable and offer - on paper - a very good bandwidth and a significant sensitivity. The K 520 is 99.99 euros and sold the K 540, € 129.99.
With GHS1, AKG believes players
To compete with industry leaders, AKG released a headset for PC gamers, the GHS1. It comes in three colors and is also foldable. His headphones are closed and supra-aural. Despite this, they would by AKG still very comfortable. The microphone on this headset is unfortunately not swivel left and / or retractable. It seems that the passive insulation from outside noise and transmission quality of the microphone are its main strengths. Future tests will tell. Its selling price is 99.99 euros announced.
K830BT and K840KL: without the son!
The two new wireless models of the brand are also more expensive. Announced respectively to 199.99 and 499.99 euros, K 830BT and K 840KL Bluetooth function in the first and thanks to Kleer technology for the second. The latter amplifies the wireless signal range (20 meters) and does not compress the sound. It would not be distorted, as is often the case with conventional wireless devices. Each of these two models offers a range of commands available directly on the headphones. Question autonomy, the 830 would not exceed nine hours and recharges via USB while the 840 can hold, according to AKG, two weeks without «food»!
