AVerMedia offers a clever solution of HDTV over LAN
The HomeFree Duet F200 broadcasts digital television channels in the home via the local network.
AverMedia sells a nifty solution to put products into television without tuner. Installing the Duet HomeFree F200 requires two small constraints. First, it requires a free Ethernet port on the modem / router to install the device onto the network. The second requires that the TV aerial socket is not located too far from your router to avoid pulling a long wire antenna or network. To ensure a good flow on the Wi-Fi router and between iPad or between router and PC, the Wi-Fi connection will be secured mode n.
Streaming video
Once the box is placed on the network, the detection channels carried, the F200 is in charge of broadcasting a streaming video signal. Compatible with the iPad, simply install an application to access TV on its shelf. Laptops and desktop can also benefit from this service. The housing is compatible with Windows Media Center interface 7 which then allows you to record your programs. For PC users who would not under this operating system, the manufacturer supplies a house application, AVerTV 6 Home Free, which also provides functions for recording and reading offline.
The HomeFree Duet F200 also entering the electronic program guide (EPG) to easily schedule a recording. Equipped with two HDTV tuners, it will be possible to watch two different channels at once (on two machines connected to the LAN), or watch one channel and record another.
So many possibilities which are subject to the same constraint: the quality of your wireless network. And although the manufacturer does not extend to the subject, it should logically be possible to view digital television channels on an iPad or a PC on the LAN to pass through a standard Ethernet cabling or via the PLC. An interesting product, useful for broadcast on television throughout the house, but still costs $ 112.
I hope you happy and wish you good luck!
