JVC Everio GS-TD1

The JVC Everio GS-TD1 films in 3D HD, The Everio GS-TD1 integrates two CMOS sensors and a powerful processor to film in 3D 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Everio GS-TD1 was presented by JVC at CES in Las Vegas. This is a camera capable of filming in 3D using two CMOS sensor (1 / 4, 1 inch) of 3.3 million pixels, a dual purpose and GT HD, a key element, a new processor called Falconbrid. The processor would Falconbrid indeed the centerpiece of this Everio GS-TD1. A powerful chip capable of processing two images constituting the 3D Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) please! JVC said it would be even 1.7 times more efficient than its older chips already embedded in its Full HD camcorder (8.3 megapixel sensor with 2D). A processor twice as powerful on the processing of H.264, nearly six times more effective for the treatment of JPEG (for photos taken with the camcorder), engraved in 40 nm and delivering superior performance while announcing a lower power consumption (3.8 W 2D 3D 4.5 W Side-by-Side and 5.2 W 3D MPEG-4 MVC/H264).

The Everio GS-TD1 and its characteristics
In 3D mode, the lens with optical stabilization is limited to a power of 5x zoom (35 mm equivalent: 42-210), doubled (10x 35 mm equivalent: 37.3 to 373) when the 3D is disabled. Digital zoom, limited to 2D mode, it would be 200x. Modest performance and no wide shots, so it will take a step back from all the subjects being filmed. The aperture range is, according to the manufacturer, F1.2 - F2.8 2D and 3D F1.2-F2.28.

3D movies without the fuss?

The objective 3D GT HD JVC uses both lenses and aspherical lenses with low dispersion to ensure quality images, sharp and well contrasted. JVC also focuses on the particularity of the optical stabilization of the lens, as well as technology Biphonic able to control the spacing of the two images and dynamic sound to ensure the best 3D rendering audio and video.

A 3D display without glasses for instant control

In addition to touch (the interest is questionable since it will be practical only if the ergonomics are well thought out menus) to be large (8.9 cm diagonal displays 920,000 pixels) screen Everio GS-TD1 is capable of displaying 3D without glasses to monitor real-time image rendering. We ask to see. Moving quickly on the basic functions such as autofocus, which can disengage for manual shifting. Same option for white balance: if the presets available on the camcorder does not agree, the user can take over.

Finally, the GS-TD1 Everio comes with software to create 3D movies and burn her, but also share clips on YouTube or Facebook. JVC announces availability in Uk by the end of February, at $ 2000.
