Samsung HMX-Q10

CES 2011 Samsung Unveils Full HD camcorder very cheap, Here is a camcorder with an accelerometer to shoot in HD, which is either right or left handed.

Samsung took advantage of CES 2011 to introduce a new HD camcorder, the HDC-Q10. Available from next March to $ 360, it looks on paper at least, quite interesting.

5 megapixel sensor and optical image stabilization

The recipe for a good camcorder first passes through the quality of its electronics and implicitly its sensor. In this case, the Korean automaker's new device integrates a CMOS five million pixels able to shoot full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels 50i) and take pictures in 4.9 megapixels. If the 10x optical zoom (38.3 to 380 mm 35 mm equivalent) is quite small - but adequate - the optical stabilization system (OIS) should be sufficient to offset the slight tremor of the hand.

A device for either hand

In describing his HMX-Q10, Samsung insists on its Switch Grip system which offers the possibility of holding the camera as well as the right hand with his left hand. And yet, the strap (which is slid his hand) and swivel LCD screen are as always located on opposite sides of the camera: the trick is in the mail. It is indeed possible to use the HMX-Q10 upside down, taking care of an accelerometer to rotate the image in the LCD, and therefore the image captured, to keep everything in place. The manufacturer also indicates that the camcorder is controlled from the touch screen and so that the menus are always in the right direction. Little trick, the zoom is done by a wheel at the rear of the unit - as the trigger - that always works the same way: we turn to the right to zoom in or left to widen the field.

However, when the device is held with the screen on the right, finishing becomes a little less careful, because what is initially below the top of the camcorder. Screw to the tripod, the cache for the battery and memory card slot (SD / SHC) become apparent. According to the manufacturer, nothing shocking ... asked to see.

HMX-Q10 takes control of the settings

Samsung also focuses on the intelligent side of HMX-Q10, including the Smart Car. It detects automatically the most appropriate Scene Mode for shooting, depending on ambient light, subject movement, etc.. Moving quickly on the "motherhood". The autofocus mode coupled with Face Detection (up to six) would be successful, users will appreciate the insider to perform manual white balance and other things, the automatic mode which is responsible for doing your best.

Finally the Samsung HMX-Q10 comes with a battery (1250 mAh) which provide a range of 1 hour and 50 minutes of recording. The software IntelliStudio 2 is provided for any assembly, burning and conversion of HD files in various formats, including for export to online services such as YouTube.
