Sony HDR-PJ10VE

Sony Handycam HDR-PJ10: Full HD camcorder and projector both
Bionz processor, CMOS sensor Exmor R and projection lens ... HandyCam that looks powerful and playful.

Sony announces new range of digital camcorders Handycam HDR-composed of PJ10, and PJ30V PJ50V. Three devices fist (grip horizontal) very original since embarking on the back of a small LCD projector. An unpretentious, displaying a definition of 640 x 360 pixels, but offers the possibility to watch videos shot with camcorders. That which joins the concept of the Nikon Coolpix S1100pj that we had the opportunity to test and that we presented in video in October.

Very few points on paper

Shooting in Full HD (1920 x 1 080p) in 50p, with a throughput of 28 Mbps, the device has CMOS sensor Exmor R (1 / 4''), which suggests the best for quality videos. On the other hand, the Bionz processor, able to cash flow HD video processing and dynamic images (Dynamic Range Optimizer and XV Colour), should also contribute to the quality of recorded footage. The audio rendering is not left behind as the three camcorders claim a record Dolby 5.1. These devices differ, however, by the definition of their sensors and power zoom and wide angle lenses (29.8 mm).

HDR-PJ10VE, the "small" model

Listed at $ 650, HDR-PJ10E is what one might call the entry-level model. With a sensor of 3 million pixels, it loads a 16 GB flash memory, expandable with SD / SDHC / SDXC. Sufficient capacity to store 1 hr 15 min maximum quality. The PJ10 has a 30x optical zoom (350x digital), a 35 mm focal length equivalent to 29.8 - 894 mm. In addition to Full HD, its sensor is able to take pictures until 2122 x 1584 pixels (4 / 3).

The HDR-double performance PJ30VE

The HDR-PJ30 has a share of storage capacity twice as large (32 GB) and also enjoys the same sensor (but only 7 megapixels). Therefore, the camera mode is gaining definition (3072 x 2304 pixels max.). Zoom loses some power: 12x optical and 160x digital (35mm equivalent: 29.8 to 357.6 mm), but retains SteadyShot optical image stabilization. In contrast, the upmarket also assessed the presence of a GPS system to georeference your photos and video. The HDR-PJ30 sold $ 950.

The HDR-PJ50VE, a must

For users who shootent anything goes, the HDR-PJ50VE offers 220 GB of storage space, either via a flash memory but with a hard drive. So beware of shocks. For the rest, he resumed the same characteristics as the PJ30VE, including the microphone jack. This model is being advertised $ 1 100.

All three models offer a slow motion function (100 frames per second). These camcorders will be available from March and comes with editing software. This offers export functionality to YouTube, Facebook, DailyMotion or Picasa for photos.
