An ultraportable Asus fine tunes the MacBook Air, Asus has unveiled its new range of portable U36JC, machines very fine and well-equipped processors.
The latest ultraportable Asus U36JC are particularly fine. Only 19 mm thick and weighs 1.7 kg with a generous eight-cell battery. This model-U36JC RX122X is armed with a Core i5-480M at 2.66 GHz, supported by 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. The graphic chip is however a little older, a single GeForce Nvidia 310M. This latter work, alternating with the integrated graphics from Intel, according to the principle of Optimus technology for maximum battery savings.
Shell of magnesium and aluminum
The notebook chassis consists of aluminum and magnesium, to offer a compromise between lightness and strength. The equipment is not too modest to bring up the bill: a 13.3-inch WXGA screen (1366 x 768 pixels), HDD 500 GB 5400 rpm, USB 3.0, a reader memory card and Bluetooth. Asus is targeting a range of up to ten hours, which is rather enticing. This version does not, however, fingerprint reader.
The laptop-U36JC-RX122X is available immediately announced the end of February 2011, priced at $ 899.
