MSI CX640-021FR

After the delay due to a bug hitting one of the components of the Intel platform Sandy Bridge, MSI has finally equipped with the new configurations Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 last generation. Thus, the CX640-021FR is a laptop with 15.6-inch screen, a priori simple, but elegant. Its screen has a fair bit of definition 1366 x 768 pixels and is adorned with a light sensor to bring the intensity LED lighting conditions.

A beautiful machine

A coating faux brushed aluminum covers the whole machine. The keyboard is a model and everything seems chiclet properly integrated. MSI said they deported the hard drive, processor and the graphics on the back of the machine to maintain proper temperature on the palm rest. Good idea, hope it will prove conclusive in our upcoming test.

With or Sandy Bridge?

With! Among the panel of new generation Intel processors, MSI chose the i5-2410M. A double heart model clocked at 2.3GHz, up to 2.9 GHz with the 2.0 Turbo Boost in certain conditions. The presence of technology enables Optimus Nvidia graphics card Nvidia GeForce 520M GT to take control of the integrated graphics processor when necessary. The battery included 6-cell should be larger than a standard 15.6 inches. Finally, the connection appears to be complete with two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0. We should also find a memory card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs. No Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet meets these, but not Bluetooth.

Save me!

on this new laptop, MSI includes a feature called Time Stamp, responsible for backup / restore hard disk data incrementally. It seems that physical control is present on the machine to activate the system at their leisure. It is also possible to program set in motion specific hour or day to themselves.

Available at the end of the month, MSI CX640-021FR expected to sell $ 649 .
