The ACER ASPIRE S7-391-53314G12AWS is a beautiful ultrabook, Windows 8 and equipped with a 13.3-inch (33.8 cm) Touch and High Definition (1920 by 1080 dots). Acer pride, the manufacturer arrives (finally) at its competitors (Samsung, Asus or Apple) with a beautiful high-end computer that holds the road. End (1.4 cm) and lightweight (1.27 kg), it mixes brushed aluminum, some plastic parts and a thin glass cover.
Placed at the back of the screen, it protects from scratching ultraportable and stiffer for better use of touch. However, on our test model, the protective glass was not quite centered on the hood. A small problem finishing unfortunate that price level. But overall, we are far from the traditional aesthetic "all-plastic" Acer ... and it is already well.
On the sides of the machine: two USB 3.0, a memory card reader, taking input mic / stereo output and a Micro HDMI video output. And Acer has the good sense to deliver two Ethernet adapters / USB, micro-HDMI/VGA. Wi-Fi n and Bluetooth 4.0 are part of the exchange for wireless or Bluetooth to connect the mouse (included). To protect the ultrabook while traveling, the manufacturer provides a fairly thick cover. We appreciate all the right accessories.
IPS panel of quality
The panel, brilliant display uses IPS technology. The screen is bright (363 cd/m2) displays beautiful colors and has wide viewing angles. To top it all, it is very well mixed (1 000:1). In addition to its high quality display, the main feature of this screen is the ability to tilt 180 degrees to the rear, unlike a conventional PC, the angle of inclination of the screen is often restricted. However, we have not found an appropriate use of this option.
ACER ASPIRE S7-391-53314G12AWS Powerful, but not enough endurance
The ACER ASPIRE S7-391-53314G12AWS is used as a conventional laptop. The tactile reinforcement comes only good keyboard keys well separated (and backlit) and the wide touchpad ... it will be the same password to use. However, the game is definitely not in the strings. Other minor weaknesses of the machine noise. When operating at full capacity, ventilation panics and quickly becomes noisy (42.4 dB)! However, the only real big complaint we can make it for autonomy: 3 h 32 min, a relatively low score for a ultrabook that price. Shame!
After a disappointing S3, S5 powerful that it lacked some advantages to contend with competition, Acer presents finally a ultrabook worthy of the name. Its ACER ASPIRE S7-391-53314G12AWS has a sleek design, a backlit keyboard, power, accessories galore ... The only (but important) point is low autonomy, a fair bit for a ultraportable PC.
