Universal Robots presents its industrial robots controlled by touch pad

The robotization of production chain is rife everywhere, including in countries where labor is cheap as deemed could prove Foxconn. Democratization of robotics in the industrial sector could accelerate further in the coming years with robots more multipurpose, cheaper and easier to use especially. Universal Robots, a Danish company has just lifted the veil on its new products for industrial, the robots UR5 and UR10 which promise both a weight and a small footprint, but also easy handling and cost making them accessible to smaller structures. Robotize a production line is not so simple as it seems, and establishment of robotic arms and automation systems requires the presence of engineers and computer full time. Constraints which robots presented here seem detached they are controllable by a simple touch pad.

Simply run a recording sequence, then manipulate the arm to make them learn to make accurate movement. Reading the sequence then reproduces the movements recorded with formidable precision. Capable of delivering as much force as delicacy, the UR5 and UR10 are specially designed to work not in place, but with man. A safety feature allowing the robot to stop automatically if a human came to enter his field for Action. According to the manufacturer, it would only take a few hours to learn how to use the robot and to locate in an industrial structure or artisanal. Announced at affordable prices without giving a precise figure, the robot could easily find its place in small structures as a supplement to revive competitiveness.
