All projects launched on Kickstarter do not see their funding success, Fortunately, some are still able to make their way anyway, as infrared transparent keyboard.
At its launch on the platform Kickstarter, the project had failed to raise funds in a timely manner, fortunately, some investors saw the potential in this transparent keyboard and thus funded its development. The concept was born a functional prototype unfortunately not currently presented at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. There is some way to resolve some problems before the firmware upgrade, but the designer has announced that the project was on track.
The keyboard is presented as a glass plate attached to a base curved plastic and metal. No physical key is the order of the day, and keys that you can see on the pictures are actually drawings printed on a transparent plastic sheet. Considering the keyboard as well to be delivered completely blank and suggests that it is possible to create your own keyboard and add their own custom keys according to their needs, or special handling.
For now, the prototype is a piece of glass on a base, but the system is ambitious. Its operation is based on the use of diodes that provide backlighting of the glass surface. An infrared sensor is then identify user actions using a camera to recreate the position of the fingers in shares from the computer. If the Hardware is announced at point, the software part will require a few months before being fully developed, availability is not officially announced, but the price is expected to remain in what was intended when it was launched on Kickstarter: $ 250 for the keyboard, and $ 150 for the mouse.
