LG will announce its next high-end smartphone next month. However, thanks to an anonymous source, Engadget our colleagues are advancing on the characteristics of the Optimus G2. It was under the pseudonym 4Leakz that was posted on YouTube a video of the device running Android 4.2.2. This is also the only video uploaded by the user. The successor to the Optimus G2 seems to take the shape of the Nexus 4, The Google phone designed by LG. Its 5.2-inch screen (1080p) is almost the full width, leaving few room for context. A choice that can have a large display without oversizing the device.
The capacitive buttons still enthroned on Optimus G2, seem to have bowed out in favor of three navigation buttons built into the main display. For the hull of its smartphone, LG seems to have opted for the glossy plastic. Hopefully it will be treated against scratches. Like the iPhone 5, the power and minijack connectors are located in the lower part of the phone.
On the inside, we find a platform based 800 on a Snapdragon clocked at 2.3GHz and accompanied by 2GB of RAM. According 4Leakz the Optimus G2 provide the same handling, «Very comfortable» of the Nexus 4 but with a finer gauge. For now, we do not know more about this smartphone. Latest rumor, it would be equipped with a sensor of 13 megapixels.
