Numerous Firms Are Installing Solar Heating Facades On Their Buildings

By Beryl Dalton

Reducing your carbon footprint has become vital as of late. Many buildings are now in the process of trying to change to solar heating facades. The main goal is to reduce the energy demand. In Europe the New Zero Energy buildings objective is for the future of the planet. Many building that are to be built after 2018 will be of net zero energy.

On many roof tops there are large open spaces that are not used these include hotels, hospitals and industrial buildings. On sides of walls as well as the exterior of buildings and garages theses empty spaces can be put to good use. Many of the easier and homemade ones can be erected without the help of a professional.

All solar powered systems are in demand and can be sold in varying sizes. The bigger systems do need to be installed by professionals and must be serviced regularly but normally they do not give any problems. The upkeep costs of the larger systems per year are about one and a half percent of the invested cost.

If more people install the panels more jobs can be created as they will need to be designed, built as well as installed and maintained. For those workers that need to travel distances the companies involved could erect housing with low rates close to the factory also reducing the pollution all vehicles produce daily. Shuttles could also be introduced to ensure that all of the employees make it to work on time so more time is spent at work.

The advantage of using this system reduces the release of unsafe substances into the air as well as being free once installed. The energy can also be used in areas that are very remote as this would involve the expansion of the electricity power grid. This method will also last forever while the oil reserves are estimated to only last for another forty years or so.

It was connected by the air ducts and fans from the basement and during that first winter reduced the oil cost by more than $650. They made a few extra dollars by asking those that were interested to send in one dollar and then to spread the word around. Later newspapers as well as different magazines where engrossed in publicizing this method.

The solar water heating system is used by converting the sun's rays into energy. A solar storage tank is mounted above the collector in the roof. There is no pumping required as all hot water rises into the tank by means of thermo siphon flow. During the extreme winter months this might not be sufficient so an electric or gas booster can also be used.

Solar facades like all other systems can also be damaged by hail, large stones and by birds. They can be difficult and dangerous when needed to be replaced but many see this as something that may not even be needed to be done for many years. If one panel develops a problem the rest of the system will still run normally. Each system usually has about twenty panels and with one out of commission it will still run at ninety five percent of its accepted performance.
