Graphics Card GeForce GT 220 – 1GB by PNY

PNY launches two graphics cards at very low prices

PNY unveils two cards based on GeForce chips 210 and GT 220, compatible DirectX 10.1 and ready for Windows 7.

PNY Technologies Europe has recently presented two new graphics cards based on Nvidia's processors: the GeForce 210, GeForce GT 220. For awards of only $67.99 and $84.95, these cards can take full advantage of multimedia possibilities and why not play a computer.

Technology side, both cards are illustrated by processors 210 and Nvidia GeForce GT220 engraved in 40nm, allowing them to display a reduced energy consumption, while operating at relatively high frequencies. As an indication, the pair processor / memory card GeForce 210 mill 589/800 MHz while that of the GeForce 220 GT turbine 625/1000 MHz. Accuracy to the attention of purists, the first pair contains 16 Shader Processors (computational units) while the second one has three times more or 48 units of calculation.

Regarding memory, these cards are equipped for a 512 MB on a bus 64-bit (GeForce 210) and another 1 GB on a 128-bit bus (GeForce GT 220) but in both cases the memory is DDR2.

On a more technical level, these two new graphics cards integrate technology DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, CUDA and supports Open CL DirectCompute and Windows 7. Needless to say that the Nvidia PureVideo HD technology is always present to ensure the playback and encoding files in Full HD 1080p under optimum conditions. Especially now that it is associated with an audio controller capable of carrying HD audio formats through HDMI native cards (the standard 1.3a).

Finally, although their formats differ (one is a card size low while the other is full height), they both adopt a mixed system of dissipation (heatsink + fan). And both have VGA, DVI and HDMI to connect to monitors and a PCI-Express 16x to unite with the motherboard of the computer.
