NB305-106 Toshiba

Toshiba releases a netbook «fashion victim» we love ... or not!
When netbooks are alike inside, they stand out outside. Such is the case of the NB305.

Style and autonomy in any event 11 hours, here are the arguments for Toshiba NB305 netbook her. Featuring an Intel Atom N450, 1GB DDR2 RAM, this laptop screen flanked by a 10.1-inch offers a classic setting. How does he use to, is it as comfortable and independent he claims to be? Here are our findings after testing.

The designers have managed at least one point: NB305 has not gone unnoticed! It has a side clicking, dare we say «bling bling», which will impress your guests. In fact, the satin bonnet sloping lines traversed we thought was rather successful. Another pleasant surprise is the keyboard type chiclet (separate keys) and can hit a relatively comfortable despite the format inevitably a little cramped. At least the entire width of the frame is used. The touchpad multipoint type reacts on him the finger and the eye and wears the same stripes inclined.
It is actually the tower screen and hinge cylinder shaped brilliant mark the character of this notebook. Here's just a personal matter even if, objectively, that side will not like flashy everyone. At least, the paintings that cover the entire machine is impervious to fingerprints. One last point anyway, the screen can be completely open to put the computer to plate. Nothing insurmountable, but it could prove embarrassing.

An Atom, neither more nor less
As for performance, the NB305 is not a lightning war. With a score of 1155 on PC Mark Vantage and an index of Windows 2.3, the scores are consistent with those of other netbooks on the market. Side graphics, Intel GMA circuit 3150, which is just another variation of GMA3100, himself an over clocked GMA950, acquires 256 MB of shared memory and does not, of course, playing 3D or decode HD. We must therefore stick to a typical netbook is to say, surfing, office light and watch DivX movies.
Good points, the NB305 features a Bluetooth chip and the system shock protection to Toshiba hard drive clean.

Autonomy in the average

With a little over 5 hours and 30 minutes of power measured by us, 11 hours announced by the manufacturer and obtained with Mobile Mark 2007, are far enough. In fact, we regularly encounter this kind of distortion in our tests which are due to different test protocols. Autonomy is not obtained and is really bad just in the middle of machines of this caliber.

Beautiful or not according to his own assessment, we can not deny that Toshiba has the mouth! Its performance, however, are all that is most conventional. Like autonomy, not bad, but nothing exceptional.
