Daimler invents carpooling 2.0

After Car2Go, a car-sharing service based on innovative and Internet geolocation, Daimler tackles this time carpooling 2.0 The idea is to use smartphones to register on a platform where users can make known their needs and offers of transportation. Simply create a profile with their photo, phone number and personal data. The project, whose name Car2gether, is conducted in partnership with a brand of computers (Scientific Computers) and takes place in Ulm, near Stuttgart.

By connecting to their smartphone or from a PC connected to the Internet, users can always consult the site Car2gether. In the way of Twitter, a platform delivers live bids mobility. We can find a driver or a passenger. The fare is 10 cents Euro per minute. And if there is no car on the way requested, the site refers to the mobility offers self sharing (Car2Go), taxi or public transport. Links to social networks (Facebook, Twitter), will allow the community to share urban mobility.
