To stay at the forefront of automotive products and services of tomorrow, PSA Peugeot Citroën strengthens its partnership with scientific laboratories in the most advanced in Europe, Asia and South America, creating a network of OpenLabs. The OpenLabs are structures that share research teams and how experimental group with those of partner laboratories in joint research structures. They will address major themes for the future of the automobile and to be closer to the future scientific discoveries anywhere in the world.
The first two partnerships will be launched early 2011 with:
- The Institute of Movement Sciences de Marseille
- The Laboratory of Integration of Material System (IMS) from Bordeaux
Meanwhile, PSA Peugeot Citroën launches StelLab (Science Exploratory Technologies Lean LABoratory) within the Directorate of Research and Advanced Engineering, directed by Marc Duval-Destin. The structure is StelLab scientific leadership with a mission:
- The installation and monitoring of network OpenLabs,
- The networking of all doctoral students, research engineers and scientists and experts of the Group,
- The accommodation of students and researchers - at doctoral, post-doc and confirmed - selected to participate in science programs initiated by the Group as part of research partnerships,
- Multidisciplinary seminars (technology, design, marketing, ...), open to academic experts.
The StelLab promote exchanges between scientists and PSA Peugeot Citroen to identify and develop new technologies and innovations that will make future vehicles. It will be inaugurated Oct. 27, 2010 on the occasion of a first interdisciplinary scientific seminar. As seen, the PSA has the means to anticipate scientific discovery. I would like to clarify about that Marc Duval-Destin, who I know well, is putting up with his counterparts from Renault (Yves Arbeille) and Valeo (William Devauchelle) a triumvirate of hope for research in France which aims to network industry, SMEs and labs around innovative projects.
