Google Nexus S: the first Android phone 2.3 Adoption of NFC

This second Google phone will be the first to incorporate Android 2.3 and to allow contactless payments.

Two years after launching the first Android phone, the Nexus One, Google makes the official release of his second phone sold under its brand, the Nexus S. Unveiled on November 16 by Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, at a conference in San Francisco, the Nexus O is the first phone to incorporate the new version of the operating system from Google, Android 2.3, alias Gingerbread (" gingerbread).
The main details of this series phone Nexus: Super AMOLED screen curved 4-inch (10.2 cm) diagonal, tri-band 3G connectivity, two cameras (front and rear) with a 5-megapixel sensor, 16 GB storage memory and 512 MB of RAM. The processor is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S: Samsung Hummingbird Cortex A8 to 1 GHz. The Nexus O precursor of the revolution of NFC

The Nexus O will be the first Android phone to accept contactless payments, with the NFC (Near Field Communication) supported natively by Android 2.3. The phone becomes a virtual wallet by approaching a terminal to enable the payment.
Besides the payment, this technology also allows to quickly read information from NFC tags embedded in many everyday objects such as posters, stickers, books and t-shirts. Thus one of the standard uses of NFC could occur in a restaurant or store to get additional information about a product or a dish, the NFC tag on a referring website. Apple would also work to integrate this technology into its future iPhone.

The price of bare Nexus S fixed at 529 dollars
