Flyviz First Head Mounted For A 360 Degree View

The Inria researchers are developing a new technology that provides a panoramic view in real time.

How you can see at the same time this happens to you, on the sides and behind your back ... like a fly? Interesting idea, embodied today by researchers from INRIA and the University of Rennes 1. They imagined a head mounted, the FlyViz, which increases the field of view of 360 degrees and people can always see everything around you! The helmet is equipped with a camera that shoots in all directions. The images are then processed instantaneously and projected in real time in the HMD. If the transmission is very fast, it takes a good quarter of an hour to adjust to this new field of vision. This futuristic object is still a prototype but imagine, already many applications: a policeman can more easily monitor a crossroads, a teacher to keep an eye on his students as he writes on the board and at home, can prepare dinner without losing sight of your children!
