The New USB 3.0 Connector Inspired Lighting Of Apple

The USB connector 3 will be smaller and will connect in every way, like the one Apple has developed for its laptops. After USB, USB 2 up to USB 3. This is the future of the connector that has introduced the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, which brings Hewlett-Packard Company, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Renesas Electronics and Texas Instruments.

This connector, also known as Type-C, is primarily intended to support technological change that requires more power. But especially its form has been revised. Its size will be reduced and approaches the micro-USB ports.

In addition, it connects in any way to facilitate the connections. These features are reminiscent of the Lighting which equipped Apple laptops. At the moment, Apple, which is not part of this group, did not react.

Before you even have it, there are voices to denounce this development is seen as a tool of programmed obsolescence. Indeed, once this standard  will be set up, all new electronic devices must comply, since the electronic cigarette to the smartphones and tablets.

The Promoter Group took account of this problem. He works with an adapter which will connect the old equipment with new. This new connector should be finalized in 2014.
