This Dell monitor is equipped with a capacitive touch slab size, and His design is entirely adapted for touch use. This large touchscreen Dell monitor is very serious ... even a little too Equipped with an LCD panel of good quality, This monitor displays a beautiful image and wide viewing angles. But it is handicapped by its reactivity.
Faced with 27 inch touch monitor IIYAMA Prolite T2735MSC-B1 (which we recently tested) the P2714T from Dell tries to impose through a slab technology IPS upscale and Full HD. The tactile system is however identical: The capacitance at the contact points 10. It is no better currently. so, Dell or Iiyama?
Difficult to compare these two monitors! Starting with their finishing, very similar quality. Small advantage to Dell, who opts for a little more noble materials (metal base) and a sleeker design. The setup menu and control buttons are, also, much more ergonomic
Image quality appointments
The new slab AMVA + Monitor Iiyama T2735MSC was very pleasantly surprised. At Dell, we stick to an IPS panel which keeps the same default: the depth of black is significantly lower (contrast ratio of 1122:1 maximum). However, the backlight remains excellent quality: it is homogeneous and does not tire the eyes sensitive (no power by PWM pulsation, which could cause some micro-flickering). Viewing angles of the Dell model are much higher than those of its competitor, which is always useful when several people looking at data on the screen. The quality of color reproduction is good (DeltaE by 2.6) and shades of gray are faithful, but comparable to the touchscreen IIYAMA Prolite T2735MSC-B1. The main handicap by this screen, is the response time their liquid crystal. It is not only very slow (19 ms according to our tests) but it is mostly marred by sticking effect inverted extremely pronounced. The color contrails behind moving objects is not natural (inverse to what it should be) which disqualifies the screen for video games, and even for some demanding moviegoers. Note that this inverse remanence is caused by overdrive (overvoltage applied to crystals) much too strong, and above can not be disabled!
Ergonomics and Touch control are unfailing
In practice, Dell monitor that offers comfort in use without failure. The touch overlay slab is reactive and fast, and is very useful with really appropriate software interfaces. Note that the screen also has two USB 3.0 ports easily accessible on the left side of the frame.
Our Opinion
Difficult to actually prefer this Dell monitor P2714T from its competitor Iiyama T2735MSC. Both models are equivalent. If you want to maximize your viewing angles without playing, Dell is a good choice. For those who prefer to have deep blacks and a time of a little more seasoned reply Iiyama remains a serious alternative. Both screens have the same price on the market.
