The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, has become the most important trade fair devoted to technological innovation in consumer electronics. It is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada and is organized by the Consumer Electronics Association. Launched for the first time in 1967 in New York City with 200 exhibitors and 17,500 participants, CES then held twice a year from 1978 to 1994, once in January in Las Vegas known as Winter Consumer Electronics Show (WCES) and once in June in Chicago, Illinois, as the Summer Consumer Electronics Show (SCES). It now takes place several years once a year, in early January in Las Vegas. The CES Innovations awards ceremony Awards1 is the largest annual meeting which is the current events technology. during the Winter CES also the mid-1990s was successful, lost the Summer CES considerable interest. As of 1995, there were several attempts, to achieve a higher attention by changing the venues, who remained ultimately unsuccessful. Since 1998, the CES takes place in Las Vegas once a year.

With the convergence of consumer electronics, computing, Internet and telecoms, the CES has supplanted the old Comdex, which was also held in Las Vegas a few weeks earlier. During the fair, new products or beta versions are presented and future products advertised. Now, the presidents of major companies in the sector there are interventions known by the name keynotes.
