Charging Systems And Battery Backup At CES 2014

Whether it is for smartphones, tablets, PCs, cars or other devices, Systems existing emergency charging. Small tour in pictures at CES 2014.

The high-tech mobile and all connected is awfully nice ... so you're never far from a power source to recharge. If you are considering a long Travel by car boat or a hike of several days, however, think it will find an alternative to good old sockets. Here are some views at CES 2014. In this first image, the portable charging station Powerstation of Highpower allows you to recharge your equipment in case of failure or when moving away from any source of energy.

Toyota wireless charging replaces the cigarette lighter

Toyota has announced that the 2013 vintage of its model Avalon is the first car in the world to benefit from wireless charging IQ.

Toyota wireless charging replaces the cigarette lighter
The automaker thus putting technology wireless charging by induction and should propose charging bases with his IQ technology option package. The Avalon is a sedan widely distributed in North America Should thus enable charging of smartphones and tablets equipped with this future technology. This is a small victory for the standard IQ found here support an automaker renowned.

Support of the manufacturer should be a real boost to the standard, Toyota announced that since smartphones are not equipped with IQ chips will also benefit from wireless charging. To do this, the boxes (acting as adapters) will be proposed, like the one pictured to recharge the Apple iPhone. Toyota has not announced the port of this option for a wider range of cars for the moment. The Qi wireless charging should be installed in a number of devices in the coming years and expand the range currently restricted to Nokia Lumia 920, Nexus 4 and HTC 8X.

Toshiba introduces a set of integrated circuits with high output current for charging a wireless device in free positioning

A new set of integrated circuits with a transceiver with double coil technology offers WPC Qi ™ design and facilities for charging free positioning on the reload surface ...

Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced a set of transmitter and receiver integrated circuits for high efficiency charging mobile phones and other portable devices powered by battery technology using free positioning on a precise surface recharge (free positioning).
Toshiba set integrated circuits wireless free positioningThe set of integrated circuits is fully compatible with the specification of the interface Qi Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), for A4, A8, A12 and A14. It consists of the power transmitter TB6865FG and receiver TB6860WBG, and with present control architecture European Union double coil for a refill cost of the battery. The position of a mobile device is detected by the circuit TB6865FG and one of the two coils is supplied for charging, thus preserving the effectiveness of charging while allowing freedom of positioning of the charging area. End users can then place a phone says Qi-able on a compliant surface charge Qi and achieve a higher efficiency of 74% on most (1) of the recharge zone. Flexibility circuit design TB6865FG also allows control of two coils, and therefore it is possible to simultaneously charge two phones.

The new set of integrated circuits Toshiba is built around the technology of microcontrollers and analog integrated circuits of society, and displays a high integration density in order to reduce the number of components on the circuit board, space used on the card and the cost of wireless charging applications. The transmitter TB6865FG contains both a microcontroller and analog elements as the PWM function, the switching control, the integrated filter and a pre-driver. The receiver combines TB6860WBG modulation functions and control to protection functions and decision-line as well as a DC-DC converter of type of high performance buck.

The circuit TB6860WBG charging profile provides a programmable via I2C control. The integrated DC-DC converter provides a highly efficient charging at high current with load current up to 1.2 A. The integrated protection covers the receiver circuit input voltage, the output current, the conditions on temperature and metal detection.

TB6865FG circuit is presented in a box LQFP100 14 mm x 14 mm while the circuit TB6860WBG is sold in a box WCSP39 measuring 4.29 mm x 2.69 mm. Toshiba is a member of WPC since 2011. In addition to the wireless charging solutions by induction, the company is also actively involved within work R & D for develop Commercial solutions for extending the distance of charging using a coupling resonance.
