Google seek partners for its gaming social network

Google Me, a project developed to compete with Facebook, is on track. The company would discuss with publishers such as Zynga and Playdom.

Google has still not officially confirmed work on developing a competitor to Facebook, Google Me Playing on words, Eric Schmidt, CEO, told the Wall Street Journal: «The world does not need a copy of the same thing. » it seems that, as already Facebook, the company is considering integrating games in its future network.

According to this Wall Street Journal, Google is in fact in negotiations with publishers specializing in the gaming community to develop a «Facebook killer». The newspaper quotes the name of Playdom, that Disney has just raised once again and that is the source of securities Tritopia and Tiki Farm.

Zynga, to whom we owe the very popular Farmville, is also among the prospective partners. The newspaper believes that even Google has already invested in the company. The name of Playfish, bought last year by Electronic Arts, is also cited.

For these game publishers, Google's arrival would be an opportunity to invest in new markets, but also reduce their dependence on Facebook.
