BlackBerry 9800 Torch RIM



Blackberry Torch: the first smartphone BlackBerry OS 6.0
This model touch slider is powered by the new BlackBerry OS 6.0.



As we announced last week that during a joint conference organized by RIM and the U.S. operator AT & T, which was held tonight in the U.S., has unveiled the BlackBerry Torch also known as BlackBerry 9800. Halfway between a 2 and a Storm Bold 9700 smartphone this rather unusual combines a capacitive touch screen of 8.1 inches diagonal (3.2 inch) 360 x 480 pixels and the ingredient that has the success of BlackBerry since their creation, namely a full QWERTY keyboard, which on this model, sliding fully in portrait mode as the screen. The best of both worlds then.
The touchpad on this very specific 3G Pearl, the Curve and the Bold 9700 has not been forgotten. On the back there is a 5 megapixel digital camera with flash and autofocus.

Above all, the Torch is the first phone equipped with the new version of OS RIM BlackBerry OS 6.0. On the menu, a redesigned interface and more visual: a new homepage, context menus, icon-based, universal search function, support the pinch and zoom through a new multi-tab web browser based on Webkit and purporting to be much more pleasant to use than the Web browser winded previous BlackBerry.

This 3G phone + is equipped with 512 MB of RAM with 4GB of internal memory, expandable with a microSD slot. It is equipped with wireless Wi-Fi b / g / n and Bluetooth 2.1. It can be read remotely using Wi-Fi multimedia files on the hard drive of other computers in the house.

Very focused on multimedia and social networks, the BlackBerry reads many formats of video files and is able to summarize in one page all the news of his contacts on major social networks like Facebook, Twitter or MySpace.

The Torch Aboard a 1300 mAh battery providing approximately 6 hours of 3G talk time (30 hours audio) and up to 17 days standby.

The Blackberry Torch will initially sold in the United States at the AT & T from 12 August to 199.99 $ with a two-year subscription. It would cross the Atlantic in time to be on our shores in September.
