Linear Technology announces the LTC3-112

DC / DC buck-boost, synchronous, 2.5 A, 15 V input with integrated power MOSFETs, operating with a yield of 95% and a low noise ...

A buck-boost converter, synchronous, which provides an output current up to 2.5 A, from a wide range of voltage sources, including batteries to one or more elements, batteries of supercapacitors and adapters
wall. From its range of input voltages from 2.7 V to 15 V, it provides a regulated output voltage from 2.5 V to 14 V, with input voltages above, below or equal to regulated output voltage. Architecture mode buck-boost, low noise level, the LTC3112 provides a continuous transition without jitter between the buck and truck modes, making it ideal for RF applications and those sensitive to noise that must maintain a constant output voltage, low noise level with a power source input variable. In many applications, battery life is increased significantly only in the achievements in buck mode. The switching frequency, by default, 750 kHz, the LTC3112 can be synchronized to an external clock from 300 kHz to 1.5 MHz, and buck-boost PWM circuit of the third generation ensures low noise and high efficiency while minimizing external component size. The combination of tiny externals and a DFN package of 4 mm x 5 mm or TSSOP-20E results in a compact footprint of the finished product.

The LTC3112 uses four internal N-channel MOSFETs with low RDS (0N), to yield up to 95%.
Burst operation MODEA, selectable by the user, reduces the consumption standing at only 50 uA, improving efficiency at light loads and increasing battery life. For noise sensitive applications, the Burst Mode ® may be disabled. The LTC3112 also has a manager of the output current, integrated, which allows you to manage and control a constant current in the load. Other features include soft start, protection against short circuit, thermal shutdown and output disconnect.

The LTC3112EDHD is available in 16-pin DFN package, 4 mm x 5 mm, and LTC3112EFE is available in a TSSOP 20-pin thermally enhanced.
Versions of industry, and the LTC3112IDHD LTC3112IFE are guaranteed to operate at a junction temperature - 40 ° C to 125 ° C. All versions are available from stock.
